Makio Hasuike is a mediator between Far Eastern culture and modern European design. After completing his studies and working as an architect and designer in Japan, Makio Hasuike came to Europe in 1963 and founded his own design studio in Milan, the centre of modern Italian design.
The hitherto broad scope of products designed by Makio Hasuike ranges from household and kitchen appliances through electronic appliances to a variety of products for the table and kitchen. He carefully observes the change of social factors and industrial manufacturing techniques and takes them into account in his designs.
Under his own brand “MH WAY”, Makio Hasuike has developed much admired bags for leisure activities as well as accessories for work and the office and launched them on the market. For his design work Hasuike received numerous design awards. Several times he received the Compasso d’Oro and at the 25th Triennale in Milan he won the gold medal. He is further represented in the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
